The third Thursday of May each year is Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD).
This is a day to talk, think and learn about accessibility and the people who need it.

Sony Electronics (North America)

Sony Electronics continues to exhibit at the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference (CSUN), one of the world’s largest international conferences on accessibility, attended by many people with disabilities. Direct contact and dialogue with customers help us improve our products and services.

Sony Electronics has installed a retail display with Braille and audio product description capabilities, created in cooperation with the Braille Institute, a nonprofit organization that supports the lives of people with visual disabilities. The retail displays have been installed in 925 Best Buy stores in the U.S.

Sony Europe

To raise awareness about accessibility features of Sony’s products, Sony Europe collaborated with The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), the UK's leading sight loss charity, on a series of radio features. These features were broadcasted on RNIB Connect Radio, the first radio program in Europe created for listeners with visual disabilities, as part of RNIB’s Tech Talk program.

Kids in Focus is a program designed to inspire young people across Europe to explore the art of photography. It offers hands-on educational workshops led by professional photographers and Digital Imaging specialists. At the end of August 2024, the Sony Central and Southeast Europe (SCSE) team collaborated with the Hungarian Down Foundation to host a two-day Photography and Art Therapy Workshop.
